Are You Being Flexible?

Hello Goddess Sistars!

I so wanted to start
this newsletter off by saying I am sitting here with herbal tea in hand & a fresh fruit platter next to me but that would be a lie… I have a big coffee (albeit
in my Goddess cup) and just snacked on a little bit of chockie and feeling very
excited (caffeine kicking in now) to be reconnecting with all of you wonderful
Goddess women again after a bit of a long break from writing.

You see the past month
has been a bit of a journey. Things on the home front were not so rosey (ahh
challenges don’t you love em). I had a little bit of the “shiny things”
syndrome & procrastination got in there with feeling totally overloaded
with the tasks that had to be done on the work front as well as the home front.

I went away for a few
days with family to the Gold Coast, went on some rides at a theme park and came
home with a very very sore neck. To me
the sore neck indicated somehow I had to deal with being more flexible. I can
blame the “Scooby doo ghost ride” all I like, but in my heart my “pain in the
neck” was representing to me a deeper issue (challenge) I needed to face.

So after some internal
reflection & 2 wonderful Bowen
sessions from my beloved Sister, the neck was getting better day by day. I
realised that this is a message from Goddess/Universe to slow down, look around
(that is hard with a sore neck) and see the messages that were being sent. And so I did.

I looked at what was
going on in my work life and my heart just bursts with joy when I think about
Goddess Playshops. The amazing women we connect with and inspire (and they
inspire me back). We had a wonderful Goddess Playshop last Sunday with 12
fabulous women and little Harrison who was a 6 month old baby. His mum brought
him along at the last minute and it was a joy to have his energy in the room
with us. With the neck still a little sore, these amazing women reflected back
to me that I am truly following my heart.

And so this was my
message this week – To follow your heart in all that you do. You know it when
you are, and you will be shown it when you are not (aka my neck pain ). As long as I can remember I have always been
able to see in people their true potential even when they at times could not,
of course this is reflective.

Dear Goddesses: there
may be times when we feel that we can’t have it all and I am here to remind you
that Yes you can. Keep that dream inside your heart alive and well. Be FLEXIBLE
in how that dream will manifest itself. Look AROUND you and see the wonderful
things you have already attracted, and be AMAZED as you follow your heart what
will unfold.

Embracing Change

Hello Goddess Sistars,

Wow what a month!

My apologies for the delay. I’ve had an upside down inside out time to get to this point and the odd grey hairs too….but it was all worth it, and will continue to be.

I’ve made the big move from Brisvegas to Melbornite City. It still feels a little surreal in some way. Looking back on my steps to this point, I will share my story with you.

I dissolved a business partnership which was going nowhere anyway. A big step for me as I’ve always been one to stick it out no matter what the circumstances were or how challenging situations became. I was the one you could count on, yet putting everyone else in front of me first.

Well, that had to change.

At first I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. Almost an overwhelming feeling of relief. It felt good, real good . Secondly I thought (in Goddess loving words, of course).. ‘Oh, shut! What have I done, my partner is going to kill me!’

So I headed home, armed with two blocks of chocolate (my partners weakness ) and fingers & toes crossed. All the way home I was playing movies in my head on how I was going to explain this one. Breathe…breathe…

This business was my main source of income and I didn’t have anything else to go to nor could I really imagine doing anything different at the time. I thought to myself ‘give the chocolate first, a loving smile, make a cuppa…and better make dinner too as that’s always big brownie points!

Within only a couple of hours the phone started ringing from colleagues finding out that I was available for business. A flood-gate opened with offers from everywhere. I couldn’t believe it! I thanked my Goddess beacon for shining brightly, as it does. My love was able to let out a breath of relief in between her sucking on the chocolate and the bonus… I didn’t even have to cook dinner!

Anyway, the best option for us was for me to move to Melbourne and for how long, I wasn’t too sure. So we packed the car up and headed off on our road trip to our new future. Excitement filled us, and a little scary of the unknown, but I’ve always been one to push the comfort zone.

After a bit of a break and a huge 40th party bash of Luanne’s, my partner had to go back to Brisbane to tie up some loose ends, but we look forward to coming together again soon.

It was a tough chooice to make, to be apart, however in our hearts and with our connection we know, feel and believe what an excellent choice this was to make.

We chose not to live in fear of ‘what’s going to happen to us now’ to live in love of ‘what can we make happen now’.

Another exciting piece of this journey is being able to allow the creativity flow with my sister, Luanne as we embrace growth and enjoy the journey of touching people with an experience of Goddess playshops.

In the past it has been a little challenging living in different states however now we can see how easily, everything is coming together.

Finally, what I loved about making the big move to Melbourne was what I feared as well – that is, embracing change and most of all, to have trust.

Opportunity is everywhere and it knocks loud….we just have to open our ears, and listen.

5 Simple Relaxation Tips for the Goddess
Every Goddess experiences times throughout the day where you just wish you could relax for even a few minutes. You already know that relaxation helps your body re-energize, but sometimes you’re so busy and caught up in the moment that you just don’t have the time to unwind. Well, fortunately there are simple ways to relax, even during your busiest days, that don’t require a lot of time or equipment. Here are 5 Simple Relaxation Tips: 1. When you’re in line at the grocery store: Instead of stressing out because there aren’t enough cashiers and every line has 5 people with heaping carts of groceries, use that time to relax your body by taking some deep breaths. * Deep breathing helps increase the oxygen in your blood. Your blood then circulates that extra oxygen throughout your body helping your inner systems recharge. * Taking five slow deep breaths will do the trick. The proper technique is to inhale and exhale deeply through your nose and out your mouth. * Not only will deep breathing help you relax, it’ll help to clear your mind, reduce brain fog, and you’ll feel much more alert and ready to tackle the next project on your plate. * Deep breathing can be done anywhere when you’re feeling stressed or just want to clear your mind. 2. When you’re at work: It’s often hard to find time to relax at work. You might even get in trouble if you’re caught “relaxing.” Oh the horror! However, there are some techniques you can do while you’re at work to help create a sense of calm that aren’t so obvious to others. * If your job requires you to sit at a computer all day, make sure you get up and move around for a few minutes every hour. This helps circulate the blood throughout your body. Just moving the blood flow will make you feel more alert and focused. * While sitting at your desk, roll your head around, from side to side and from front to back with your eyes closed. This technique helps to relieve neck tension, increasing blood flow to your brain, which is a natural and easy way to relax. * If you’re on your feet all day, stretch out your back and sides by standing with your feet firm on the floor, shoulder width apart, and twist your upper body, including your head, slowly from side to side. This will loosen up your back muscles and spine, releasing tension throughout your body. * During a break or lunchtime, go for a walk. Walking is a great way to clear your mind and your body will benefit from the extra exercise as well. 3. When you’re rushing through a busy day: Take just a few moments to daydream and escape the busyness of reality. * Daydreaming lets your imagination flow, causing instant relief from the stress of the real world. * Think of a place or experience that makes you feel happy or calm. Imagine how it smells, how the air feels, and who’s around. * After five minutes of a calming daydream you’ll feel relaxed, re-energized and ready to face the real world again. 4. Wherever you’re at, smile: Smiling is proven to help relax and rejuvenate your body. * When you’re out and about, smile at others around you. * When you’re at work, smile at your co-workers. Not only will it help you relax, it’ll help relax them as well. * Smile at your children when you’re toting them around to all their different activities. This will create a peaceful environment you’ll all enjoy. 5. When the going gets tough, laugh: Laughter’s proven to be an instant stress reliever. Now I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t want to be seen as a nut case, so laughing out loud when you’re in line at the store or sitting at your desk may not be the best time. When you can, get someone involved in your laughter with you. * Tell a funny joke or story to a co-worker (at an appropriate time, of course). * Play a fun game or sing a silly song with your kids as you’re driving. * Watch funny videos on YouTube. Engaging in these simple, everyday relaxation techniques will help to sustain and strengthen you throughout your day. It’ll also make it easier to unwind when you get home. Your friends, co-workers, and family will all appreciate the new, relaxed you! Remember the Goddess you are, and know that you deserve to feel relaxed. I hope you enjoy these tips. Newsletter #15 – Laugh out Loud

Laugh Out Loud!!
Hello Goddess Sistars! Welcome to another Goddess News. Wow it’s been a busy year and we’ve only just started. What I have noticed through my little coffee breaks and just observing, is just how busy life can be. Everyday we have so many demands on us, from work associates, kids & family even sometimes our friends. That’s life! One thing I’ve noticed, just with myself is that I get so busy that I don’t even think to take time out to just laugh. You know I seem to find time for others, time for sleeping even time for weeping but to find time for laughter isn’t something that happens everyday…and it should. Now I’m not talking about a little giggle here and there. I’m talking about a good ole belly laugh. One that gets your whole body moving until your stomach hurts (so good) and the tears come streaming out of your eyes…. I remember a time where my two sisters and I were all together, having a couple of wines and there was something that was said. Maybe it was the wine but anyway once one starts laughing in a way as if their sides were about to split, it becomes contagious! All 3 of us, had tears rolling down our faces, we could hardly breathe ( well I felt I couldn’t). It felt like it went on for a good 5 or 6 minutes, which is a long time. Thinking back on that now, I don’t even remember what we were laughing about and I’m sure if I asked my sisters, they wouldn’t remember either. What I do remember was that at that particular time, it was something we all needed. It was a tough time for us. It was then we probably all realised (well I know I did) that we have to make time to laugh. Because one thing it guarantees, is that it makes you feel so good inside and for that moment, whatever is happening at that time doesn’t need to be pondered on right then. Of course you don’t want to pick a tough time as the time to laugh. This is something that needs to be done on a daily basis. Try this…look in the mirror and start to laugh…you don’t have to laugh about a particular thing just do the actions. Feel it in the belly…you’ll find that it will start to kick in just by looking at your reflection. At the looks you give, at the actions you show. Laugh out loud…and then get louder and louder…..( maybe leave a note in the neighbours’ letter box that you’re having a laughing session ) and just have fun with it. You might actually surprise yourself! I found this little snippet on the internet and it just cracked me up. It may not be very goddess-y but hey, who writes this newsletter! ) Love & Blissings Michelle & Luanne xx

Hello Goddess Sistars! Well we are well into the New Year and there’s some real buzzzzzzing out there at the moment! What will this year bring us…well whatever you want of course! You are in control of YOU. How wonderful is that? You will welcome choices of change as you move through this year. As the saying goes ‘ the world is my oyster’. So Goddess Sistars – embrace it, feel it….live it! Say your intentions out loud, expect the best and make a priority that this will be a year of fun, nurturing and a belly full of laughs. May your year be filled with love and prosperity… I leave you with a little something I found.. Recipe for a Happy New Year. . . . . . . . . . . . . Anonymous Take twelve fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free from old memories of bitterness, rancor and hate, cleanse them completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of pettiness and littleness; in short, see that these months are freed from all the past -€ have them fresh and clean as when they first came from the great storehouse of Time. Cut these months into thirty or thirty-one equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole batch at one time (so many persons spoil the entire lot this way) but prepare one day at a time. Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work (some people omit this ingredient and so spoil the flavor of the rest), hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness, rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad dressing , don’t do it), prayer, meditation, and one well-selected resolution. Put in about one teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor. How to Nurture Yourself

Self-nurture on a regular basis to show your self-love and reinforce your positive self-esteem. Do some of these things:

1. Take time out for yourself. Go on a date by yourself.

2. Go out by yourself to a nice restaurant, art gallery, movie, concert or some other activity or event that you enjoy.

3. Write a love letter to yourself. Say all the things you would want to hear from a beloved. Be generous with praise, adoring, and loving. Comment in detail about your beauty and grace. Mail the letter to yourself. When you read it, let the words enter into your heart to open yourself more to yourself.

4. Make a list of all of your positive qualities.

5. Make a list of all of your achievements.

6. Make a list of all of the obstacles you have overcome in your life

7. Shine in those areas that come naturally to you, and don’t worry about the rest.

What a year….
Hello Goddess Sistars! Only a couple of days until Christmas and nearing another end of year and looking forward to a wonderful 2010! We have all journeyed through 2009 and to some it might have been quite a challenging year as to others it has been a year of flow. Either way we have all shared plenty of laughs and many tears. Some of us have been touched by others, and all of us have had lessons learned. How wonderful, how life is a playground for us all to satisfy our curiousity, live our dreams and just…play. In Goddess Playshops, we have had a fantastic time. We got to hang out with a lot of you at the Mind, Body & Spirit Festivals…what a hoot they were. Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us. Moving forward into 2010, we will be embracing some exciting changes and some new ideas as well. Well we are getting close to the ’silly’ season A time where we rush around like headless chickens, preparing ourselves for school holidays; a time where we drink & eat plenty and trying to get tasks at work completed before we hit the holidays!
